Aims of the network

Members of the Independence Works network share a belief that occupational therapists make excellent case managers, due to the nature of their philosophy, training and the professional roles that they occupy.

The therapists in the network all aim:

We are all

members of specialist clinical and case management groups and are committed to continuous professional development.

  • To enable clients to achieve optimal restoration of function and personal independence.
  • To enable clients to return to previous roles, including paid or voluntary employment, study or other purposeful occupation.
  • To facilitate provision of equipment or resources needed to participate in the occupation e.g. assistive technology, furniture, cooking utensils, adaptive clothes and computers.
  • For clients to have information about and appropriate access to statutory services and all other relevant resources.

Care Quality Commission (CQC) Registration

Independence Works’ occupational therapist case managers work in partnership with CQC registered specialist care and support companies for all cases where the client requires nursing or personal care support, in accordance with CQC and legal requirements.
